CME’s got a long-standing relationship with Statewide. We’ve been working with them for several years now, and from the start, it’s always been about quality over quantity. One of the apprentices recently said, ‘You’re our current host employer,’ but we want to be THE host employer – the one that supports them all the way through to becoming qualified electricians. That’s our goal. This mindset is exactly what Brett brings to the table. With many of the apprentices we’ve taken on, it’s never just been about skills – it’s about mindset, cultural fit, and attitude. I want to specifically mention Brett here because he’s consistently delivered on that.

I guess I’ve always used Statewide because of the ease, you know. We get them, and yeah, we get sent the bill once a week or fortnightly. It’s just the ease of going through the whole process of employing staff, and at the end of the day, if it doesn’t work out, we can hand them back. I don’t generally like doing that. That’s why I enjoy using Statewide.

Look, Statewide makes it really easy, it’s kudos to them because I just have to reach out to Statewide, and they start looking at kids that are well suited to us. Statewide’s field officers know our business and know me and what I am looking for. They look at the kids individually and go I think I have one that is well suited to you, and we go from there. That’s how I found Ollie, and that’s how I find all my apprentices.
