The Apprenticeship
Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade

Statewide Apprenticeships are seeking an Engineering Mechanical Apprentice to work for the host employer Maritime Constructions. The positions will be full time apprenticeships, working a minimum of   38 hours per week and reasonable overtime or shifts may be required. You will be paid as per the relevant award unless otherwise advised. Long term opportunities for the right candidate.

 

Duties may include

  • Determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings.
  • Fit fabricated metal parts and assembly.
  • Set guides, stops and other controls on machining tools; set up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses; and set controls for machines.
  • Perform maintenance of machines, mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
  • Interpret technical drawings.

 

About you

  • Genuine and keen interest to learn trade with commitment to 4 year apprenticeship.
  • Physically fit and reliable.
  • Able to pass a drug & alcohol test.
  • Able to pass hearing test.
  • Hold a current Driver’s License (P’s acceptable) and reliable transport.
  • Minimum completion of Year 11 (Stage 1 SACE) by commencement.
  • Engineering experience an advantage (training course, work experience or personal interest).
  • Willingness to do work trial.
  • Willing to travel for short term work when required with accommodation & transport provided.
