The Apprenticeship 

Certificate 3 in Civil Construction Plant Operations (RII30820)
Statewide Apprenticeships are seeking an apprentice civil plant operator to join our team working throughout the Strathalbyn region.

The position is a full time apprenticeship, working a minimum of 38 hours per week and will be paid as per the relevant award unless otherwise advised.

 

Duties may include

  • Carry out measurements and calculations.
  • Conduct backhoe, loaders, and construction excavator operations. 
  • Read and interpret plans and job specifications and communicate with team.
  • Carry out manual excavations and operate small plant equipment.
  • Identify and locate underground services.
  • Safely dispose of nontoxic materials
  • Conduct roller operations and spread and compact materials manually.
  • General physical labour 

 

Skills required / desirable

  • Driver’s licence and transport
  • White Card training
  • Be physically fit, this is a physically demanding role
  • Prepared to undergo a Drug & Alcohol screen
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable
  • Hard-working
  • Have a genuine passion for Civil Construction.
  • Roller and or skid steer ticket an advantage
  • Have good time management skills
  • Committed to completing a 3 year Apprenticeship
  • Committed to doing the formal study required to complete the Apprenticeship
