Engineering Tradesperson (Fabrication) Apprenticeships – Multiple Full-Time Positions

Statewide Apprenticeships is an independent, community-based, not-for-profit organisation that has been providing apprentices and Trainee labour-hire to businesses and industries for over 30 years.

 

The Apprenticeship

A fantastic opportunity exists for motivated individuals living in the Port Pirie region to become full-time first-year Apprentices with our valued Host Employer, SJ Cheesman. Positions will commence in January 2025, and suitable candidates will have long-term opportunities. School leavers are encouraged to apply.

 

Duties may include

Perform engineering measurements
Perform welding using multiple techniques
Carry out mechanical cutting
Apply fabrication, forming and shaping techniques
Repair, replace, modify fabrications
Interpret technical drawings
Use of power tools and hand tools

 

About you

Keen interest to learn Certificate 3 in Engineering – Fabrication Trade with commitment to 4 Year Apprenticeship
Able to pass a drug & alcohol test and hearing test
Hold a current Driver’s License and reliable transport (or working towards soon)
Physically fit as the position can be physically demanding
Ability to work in a team under instruction and use your initiative when necessary
Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic
Ability to work away for short periods if required with transport, accommodation and meals provided.
