Certificate II in Civil Construction (RII20720) |SACE CREDITS

Are you a Year 10 or 11 student who enjoys hands‑on work, being outdoors and starting a practical career? Statewide Apprenticeships is the employer, and you will be hosted to the City of Victor Harbor Council, where you can earn while you learn, contribute to real community projects and complete a nationally recognised qualification as part of your SACE.

Who We Are – Statewide Apprenticeships

Statewide Apprenticeships is an independent, community‑based not‑for‑profit organisation and one of the largest employers of apprentices and trainees in South Australia. Since 1988, they have supported young people across rural, regional and metropolitan SA to enter the workforce with confidence and practical skills.

Why This Traineeship Is a Great Fit for Students

This traineeship is ideal for students who enjoy learning by doing. As part of the City of Victor Harbor Council’s Civil team, you’ll gain real experience working on roads, footpaths, drainage, parks and community infrastructure.

You’ll receive structured training alongside on‑the‑job learning, building skills that employers across the construction, council and infrastructure sectors value.

SACE Points and Study Benefits

This traineeship is an excellent way to progress your SACE while gaining workplace experience.

Participants earn SACE credits through their VET training:

  • 35 nominal hours of accredited training = 5 SACE points
  • 350 nominal hours completed = 50 SACE points

Because the Certificate II in Civil Construction includes substantial nominal hours across the full qualification, students earn significant Stage 1 and Stage 2 SACE credits simply by completing their traineeship training.

What You Will Learn

Students will be introduced to key skills across civil construction, including:

  • Safe work practices
  • Using and maintaining tools and equipment
  • Basic construction tasks
  • Following work plans

Pathways After Completion
