Expression of interest for Apprenticeship

Statewide Apprenticeships are seeking expressions of interest from reliable, hardworking persons living in Port Pirie or surrounding regions who are interested in becoming a 1st Year Apprentice Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technician.

This apprenticeship is full time, working a minimum of 38 hours per week. Based at a local workshop, and some off-site work may be required. Long term opportunities for the right candidate. Out Of Trade Apprentices in this field will also be considered.

You will be learning to:

• Follow repair procedures on brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts associated with commercial vehicles.
• Complete routine maintenance: including oil change, battery check, lubricating components and replacing worn parts.

About you

• Australian Citizen or Resident.
• Keen interest to learn trade with commitment to 4 year apprenticeship.
• Physically fit and reliable as this position involves heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Able to pass a drug & alcohol screening.
• Drivers licence (P’s acceptable).
• Possess a mechanical aptitude and ability to manage time.
• Passionate and willing to learn about repairing & servicing heavy vehicles.
• Training, similar experience or interest in automotive/mechanical environment (desirable).
