The Traineeship 

Certificate II in Engineering

Statewide Group Training are seeking an engineering trainee to join our team working at St Agnes. You will begin your day starting at the factory located at St Agnes and be returned to the factory at the end of the day.

The position is for an unskilled person to assist with the installation and servicing garage doors who will be trained by one of the best garage / roller door technicians in South Australia and will most likely transition into a new team working on commercial installations.

The position is a full-time traineeship, working a minimum of 38 hours per week and will be paid as per the relevant award unless otherwise advised. Paid overtime will be available from time to time and this may require this person to work after hours, on weekends, and on public holidays, sometimes at short notice.

The tasks performed in the role:

• Assemble mechanical components or machine parts
• Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Identify and order replacement parts
• Repair or replace worn or broken door parts using hand tools
• Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair
• Remove parts or components from equipment.
• Install hardware and other interior fixtures
• Fabricate parts or components
• Run cables for connect equipment (pre-terminated)
• Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning
• Test mechanical equipment to ensure its functioning properly
• Document activities
• Raise / issue invoices and collect payments

What the applicant does need:

• Common sense and a can do attitude
• They must be Physically fit and able to life heavy items (within safe limits)
• Able to bend, climb, reach, kneel, etc., for extended periods.
• A current driver’s license
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
